OMCP Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group
The Operations Management and Capital Programs Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group makes recommendations to the vice chancellor focused on access and representation, campus climate, intergroup relations and transformation within OMCP units and across the UC San Diego campus. The IDEA Task Group suggests and recommends action-oriented proposals to create more equitable and inclusive community environments.
IDEA Task Group Expectations
- Draft a task group strategic plan
- Engage in information sessions and discussions regarding diversity-related issues and ideas. For example:
- Identify barriers to achieving greater diversity, brainstorm solutions and provide recommendations to enhance diversity
- Listen to invited guests who will share life experiences and provide suggestions for enhanced diversity and inclusion
- Review OMCP data and reports related to equity, diversity and inclusion for informed discussions and recommendations
- Identify and develop programs for vice chancellor awareness, approval and implementation
- Encourage OMCP unit wide dialogue on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion matters. Members are liaisons between their unit areas and task group and are expected to engage in two-way communication
- Explore opportunities for professional advancement and growth
- Write a draft IDEA Task Group charge for the next cohort who would focus on the:
- Implementation of recommendations approved by the VC-OMCP
- Assessment and development of recommendations for the upcoming year
