OMCP Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group
The Operations Management and Capital Programs (OMCP) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group makes recommendations to the vice chancellor focused on access and representation, campus climate, intergroup relations and transformation within OMCP units and across the UC San Diego campus. The IDEA Task Group suggests and recommends action-oriented proposals to create more equitable and inclusive community environments.
IDEA Task Group Expectations
- Review the IDEA Task Group Strategic Plan with each new member cohort
- Implement recommendations approved by the VC-OMCP
- Assess and develop recommendations for the upcoming year
- Engage in information sessions and discussions regarding diversity-related issues and ideas. For example:
- Identify barriers to achieving greater diversity and brainstorm solutions and provide recommendations to enhance diversity within OMCP
- Invite guests who will share life experiences and provide suggestions for enhanced diversity and inclusion
- Review OMCP data and reports related to equity, diversity and inclusion for informed discussions and recommendations
- Identify and develop programs for vice chancellor awareness, approval and implementation
- Encourage OMCP unit-wide input and feedback on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion matters
- Establish regular communications between unit areas and task group members
- Provide regular OMCP-wide updates on current initiatives
- Explore opportunities for professional advancement and growth
