Welcome to Operations Management and Capital Programs
Our Departments
Campus Planning
Campus Planning envisions the future of UC San Diego. They look at the entire campus — it’s buildings and outdoor areas — and develop cohesive plans for new development projects that blend seamlessly with our current footprint and preserve the unique ecosystem that surrounds us.
Capital Program Management
Capital Program Management brings new buildings to life. They oversee all aspects of planning, design and construction on projects over $2 million, ensuring all plans match the campus vision and blend seamlessly with our existing environment.
Environment, Health & Safety
Environment, Health & Safety ensures the UC San Diego community stays safe and healthy. They conduct inspections, manage safety concerns and create regulations that minimize the chances of future incidents.
Facilities Management
Facilities Management keeps our campus clean, maintaining all buildings, grounds and managing minor campus renovations. They are responsible for indoor cleaning, outdoor maintenance, non-hazardous waste removal and maintenance and repair requests.
Information Governance and Policy
Information Governance and Police is responsible for how UC San Diego data and records are created, stored, used, archived and deleted. They process records requests, protect information from unauthorized access, and ensure our records are accurate, consistent and reliable.
Transportation Services
Transportation Services oversees a broad network of mobility resources across campus. They manage shuttles, parking, e-scooter sharing, car rentals and traffic flow while supporting initiatives that reduce emissions and enhance accessibility for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
UC San Diego Police
UC San Diego Police maintain security and safety for 50,000 students, staff, faculty, patients and visitors that visit campus every day. They patrol our campus, investigate crime reports, provide crime prevention education, and offer safety escorts, security checks and event coverage.
Utilities & Sustainability
Utilities & Sustainability powers the university. They provide reliable energy, water, and waste services while advancing campus carbon‑reduction goals that integrate renewable technologies, promote conservation, and support research and education to foster a resilient, low‑impact community.
